Gonda: A grand Tiranga Yatra was organised across Gonda district on Friday ahead of Independence Day, with police officers and personnel spreading a message of patriotism, national unity and integrity among citizens.
The yatra was organised under the direction of Gonda Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal. All gazetted police officers and station house officers led Tiranga Yatras in their respective areas along with police personnel.
Carrying the national flag, police officers and personnel marched through major roads, markets and public places, urging citizens to uphold the unity and integrity of the country and strengthen the spirit of patriotism.
During the procession, members of the public were informed about the significance of Independence Day and urged to respect the national flag and maintain its dignity. Local residents also participated enthusiastically in the rallies.
Police personnel appealed to citizens to maintain peace, harmony and brotherhood and celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm and dignity.
Police officials said the Tricolour represents India’s freedom, valour, sacrifice, unity and national pride. Independence Day is an occasion to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters and martyrs who dedicated their lives to securing the nation’s freedom.
Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal extended his advance Independence Day greetings to the people of Gonda and appealed to citizens to contribute towards strengthening the nation’s unity and integrity and discharge their responsibilities honestly in the national interest.
